SPECIALIZED REHABILITATION SERVICES

Good Samaritan supports your doctor’s clinical care with a full spectrum of specialized rehabilitation services. Our interdisciplinary teams provide comprehensive care with one objective—to help patients restore quality of life as quickly as possible.

Our facility serves a large number of patients with multiple diagnoses with both chronic and acute conditions. The belief that each patient deserves the opportunity to succeed drives our rehabilitation program. Our trained health care professionals, dedicated to encouragement and motivation, provide challenging opportunities in rehabilitative intervention for our patients. We invite you to visit our rehabilitation gym to learn more about our specific programs.

PHSYICAL THERAPY

Our physical therapists are licensed health professionals. They work with our skilled nurses, under orders set by the physician, to help you restore lost strength, mobility, coordination, and balance. As you would expect, exercise is the cornerstone of physical therapy. Our therapists will develop a plan of care that incorporates a variety of rehabilitative approaches and equipment to build muscle mass, improve bone density, and increase your stamina, therefore, allowing you to work harder and longer over time.

Improving your overall physical fitness can lead to dramatic improvement in your quality of life. You can do more without getting tired, whether that means taking your grandchildren for a walk, dancing one more dance, or carrying your groceries from your car. We will provide you with a customized program of exercises to do on your own so that you can stay mobile and independent.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Our occupational therapists are licensed health professionals. They work with our skilled nurses, under orders set by the physician, to restore or maintain your ability to manage the activities of daily living such as eating, bathing, dressing, and cleaning. We will create an individualized course of therapy based on close observation of your strength, coordination, and range of motion and set goals to achieve your maximum potential and safe return home.

SPEECH  THERAPY

Our speech therapists are licensed healthcare professionals. They work with our skilled nurses, under orders set by the physician, to restore the lost ability to speak and/or eat. Many of our patients have had strokes or surgery for cancer in the jaw or neck. They may have to relearn to swallow or retrain the mouth, lips, and tongue to cooperate for clear speech.
